Annual General Meeting 2024

Members will be asked to vote on a single resolution and to show support to a new Trustee and two Main Committee candidates.

Committee Resolution

It is proposed that Rules 25, 46V, 53 and 54 be amended to facilitate electronic-only voting from 2025. This will modernise the Club’s communication and voting processes before and during General Meetings.

Timelines and Efficiency: eliminates delays associated with the post and ensures members stay informed in a timely manner.

Cost and Sustainability: digital communications are more cost-effective and sustainable.

Member Engagement and Transparency: the move would increase member participation by making it easier and more convenient for all members to cast their votes, whether they attend meetings in person or remotely.

Inclusivity and Accessibility: the Club recognises that some members may not be comfortable with technology. A Voting Kiosk/Booth at Main Reception will assist those members, ensuring that everyone can participate.

Boring but Important

Membership cards

To improve the member experience, it is crucial that we know the data about numbers using the Club and its various facilities. Please, therefore, always have your membership card (electronic or physical) with you when you are at the Club and register on entering and when using the controlled facilities (e.g. the Gym and Swimming pools) by tapping your membership card on a reader or by having it scanned.

Respect

In a number of conduct cases recently, it has become apparent that some members are not acting as one would expect from a member of The Hurlingham Club. I would remind members that, as laid down in the Rules, they shall act with honesty and integrity, and exercise good manners and act in a courteous and respectful manner to all fellow members, guests, visitors and staff.

Hats

Can I remind you of the Bye-law that all members are expected to remove hats when indoors, unless there is a medical, religious or other good reason for not doing so.
