HEATHCOTE
Heathcote events are in full swing! In April, we held our annual Pub Quiz – this sold-out event saw members and guests navigate all sorts of topics, including a particularly challenging ‘Famous dogs from Film/TV’. Lucky winners were able to secure bar tabs, wine bottles, and tickets to the Summer Fiesta!
Our regular quarterly drinks kicked off again in March. We’ll hold additional drinks evenings in the warmer months, and the first one was our Champagne & Wine Tasting evening held at the end of May.
Our next quarterly Drinks on Wednesday 4 June celebrates the incoming summer season. These non-ticketed events are a fantastic opportunity for members and guests to mingle, enjoy beverages, and share good company. Do save the date!
Our regular padel events, held on the first Wednesday of each month, will continue into the summer season. As the weather warms up, Heathcote members can also look forward to Tennis & Pimms on Friday 13 June, and a new Padel & Pizza event to launch in July. We’re currently working on exciting events for August and September, which will be announced via Heathcote channels very soon.
A final note – the committee are working on re-launching our monthly newsletter. If you haven’t already, please opt in through the Club website, or get in touch with IT!

YOUNG HURLINGHAM
Our Hurlingham bunnies certainly had a spring in their step over the Easter holidays!
There was an abundance of activity options to choose from, catering for all ages and interests. Baskets were at the ready for the annual Easter Egg Hunt egg-stravaganza and apparently no egg was left behind! Old favourites, such as Performing Peachicks for budding thespians, and all-day multi-sports camps for the sporting enthusiasts, were joined by the novel Circus Skills Workshop which was a huge hit for children aged 5-10 years.
At half term there was a plethora of activities in store. A highlight of last September’s Hurlingham Sunday event, the hugely popular Splashathon, was brought out of hibernation early to kickstart the fun. Children aged 6-14 years had a splashtastic time at the Outdoor Pool on a gladiator-style inflatable assault course. As we go to print, bookings have recently opened for all the usual sports camps and there are two days of Peachicks Forest School to keep inquisitive little minds busy.
We continue to trial new events and, following the launch of the Little Ones Coffee Morning back in January, we are pleased that this popular addition is now being held on a monthly basis. Pop into the Harness Room on the last Friday of every month to meet fellow expectant parents and those with babies under 1 year – or you can join the WhatsApp group to chat first.
Thank you to those who joined the consultation back in January, arranged specifically for Young Hurlingham members to provide feedback on the evolving design for the North and West Wings. The Masterplan is hugely relevant to all of us – we hope YH will continue to actively engage in Open Meetings and surveys to influence the prioritisation of facilities we need in the future. If you are keen to share ideas and feedback more informally, there are WhatsApp working groups covering all key areas of the Club. You can join these via the YH WhatsApp community, and they are hosted by the Young Hurlingham Committee… we can’t wait to hear from you!
Young Hurlingham will be at full throttle this summer with a stellar line-up of activities and events. Hopefully the sun will have its hat on for the much-anticipated Camp Out on Wednesday 9 July. Whatever the weather, a throng of lucky youngsters will revel in an evening and night of parent-free adventure! The first week of July (Wednesday 2 July - Sunday 6 July) will be a showcase of tennis competition talent with the Junior Championships. The week will end on a high with our rising stars dazzling on the tennis courts at the Mini Championships on Sunday 6 July. Don’t miss the pinnacle of the YH summer calendar, The Family Picnic on Saturday 12 July. Whilst most children will be hugely excited to hear that donkey rides and a petting zoo will be on the list of amazing attractions, my children are already dreaming of all the sweet eating they will do whilst I am otherwise distracted! See you there… or be square!
